My cherries originated from a silkscreen print ‘Mon Cherie’ I made in my last year of university. I wanted to loosely recreate the cherry blossoms pattern I used in the background of that print (it became something completely different obviously).
Back then I didn’t know how to make an actual repeat. With multiple sheets of film in black and white for the screen it became a montage disaster. I embraced the oops back then and fell in love with the print. This time around the flowers repeat perfectly and I love these even more…
